Help Keep Wortham Safe

Report Incidents Directly to the Sheriff's Office

At the recent National Night Out at the Wortham Clubhouse, we spoke with the two Harris County Sheriff’s deputies who are dedicated to patrolling Wortham Villages and Wortham Grove — Deputy Mayo (days) and Deputy Lopez (nights). Residents were reminded of the importance of calling the Sheriff’s Office to report any incident or suspicious activity.

The Most Important Step: Call the Sheriff's Office

Residents play an important role as the deputies' "eyes and ears" in keeping Wortham Villages and Wortham Grove safe. It is essential to call the Sheriff’s Office to report any incident or suspicious activity.

Do not rely on social media or email:

The Sheriff's Office does NOT monitor platforms like Nextdoor or Facebook.

The HOA or MUD cannot file a police report on your behalf.

Reporting concerns—even small ones—helps our deputies identify patterns, establish probable cause to investigate, and work to keep everyone safer.

You don't need to know exactly what's happening to make the call.

When and How to Call

If you see something that seems suspicious, even if you’re not sure or don’t have proof, please use the following numbers:

Emergencies - Call 911 If there is an immediate threat to life or property.

Non-Emergencies - Call 713-221-6000 For incidents NOT an emergency, such as vandalism, lost property, suspicious person/car, or theft after the fact.

Security Camera Access

As part of the neighborhood's increased security measures, every entrance is monitored by license plate reading cameras. The Sheriff’s Department can access this footage ONLY when a crime has been reported by a resident. To help them find the right footage, it is vital to provide details like the date, time, and/or vehicle details.

Let's all do our part to keep Wortham safe for our families, our homes, and our community.
